Volunteers are the heart and Soul of Beacon House...
It is only with the help and support of our volunteers that the ministry of Beacon House can be delivered on a daily basis and that our organization can fulfil our mission.
Volunteers in action...
A volunteer's voice may be the first one you hear when you call the house or the smiling face greeting you as you make your way to the coffee maker in the kitchen. When you see folks planting flowers in the Spring or trimming the trees at Christmas, you are witnessing some of our volunteers in action.
Some volunteer opportunities...
Volunteer duties range from serving at the registration desk to serving on our board of directors, a committee or task force. Volunteers assist with administrative projects like newsletters and computer related work, make meals for guests, fold towels, keep the guest computer operating smoothly, shovel our sidewalks, manage our recycling program, remodel rooms... you name it! Volunteers virtually help in almost every aspect of operating our house and our non-profit organization.
Together, giving unselfishly...
Together, the Beacon House Board of Directors, our "in house" volunteers, local service clubs, youth groups, church groups, and other community volunteers give unselfishly of their time and talents to make Beacon House "A Port in the Storm" for all those that stay here. More than 100 volunteers have given over 11,000 hours of service during our first 5 years of operation.
Please consider becoming a volunteer...
Beacon House is always in need of more and new volunteers! If you would like more information about volunteer opportunities at Beacon House please contact us at (906) 225-7100 or e-mail us at beaconhouse@chartermi.net.
