Volunteers are the Heart and Soul of Beacon House...
It is only with the help and support of our volunteers that the ministry of Beacon House can be delivered on a daily basis and that our organization can fulfil its mission.
Volunteers in action...
A volunteer's voice may be the first one you hear when you call the House or the smiling face greeting you as you make your way to the coffee maker in the kitchen. When you see folks planting flowers in the spring or trimming the trees at Christmas, you are witnessing some of our volunteers in action.
Volunteer opportunities...
Volunteer duties range from working at the registration desk to serving on our board of directors, a committee or task force. Volunteers assist with administrative projects like newsletters and computer related work, make meals for guests, fold towels, keep the guest computer operating smoothly, shovel our sidewalks, manage our recycling program, remodel rooms... you name it! Volunteers help in almost every aspect of our non-profit organization and house operations.
Together, giving unselfishly...
Together, the Beacon House Board of Directors, our "in house" volunteers, local service clubs, youth groups, church groups, and other community volunteers give unselfishly of their time and talents. More than 300 volunteers have given over 15,000 hours of service since we opened in June of 2002.
Please consider becoming a volunteer...
Beacon House is always in need of more volunteers! If you would like more information about volunteer opportunities at Beacon House, please contact us at (906) 225-7100 or e-mail us at beaconhouse@chartermi.net.
